ONTARIO CHILDCARE COMPLIANCE SUPPORT

Software built around Ontario childcare requirements — with sources you can trace.

Select Ontario as your jurisdiction, review a versioned regulatory profile, and see what changed before applying an update.

ONTARIO LICENSING WORKFLOWS

Turn regulatory requirements into operational checks administrators can actually use.

Ontario licensed child care centres operate under the Child Care and Early Years Act and its regulations. ChildcareFlow's Ontario profile is being designed to translate selected operational requirements into structured records, reminders and reviewable checks.

The goal is not to replace legislation or a licensing advisor. The goal is to make important operational requirements easier to see, record and review in daily work.

Official-source approach

Every validated ChildcareFlow compliance rule should include its Ontario source, effective date, profile version and last-reviewed date.

Examples of Ontario requirements the profile can support

Staff-to-child ratios

Ontario's licensing manual sets ratio and group-size requirements by age category. ChildcareFlow can use room age groups and staffing information to surface ratio-related checks.

Attendance records

Ontario requires daily attendance records showing actual arrival and departure times or absence. The attendance workflow can capture these fields directly.

Emergency information

Emergency records need readily accessible parent contact, alternate contact and applicable medical/allergy information. ChildcareFlow can flag missing data.

Record retention

Ontario guidance states that children's records, including attendance and individualized plans, are maintained for three years after discharge. Retention rules can be attached to record types.

REGULATORY UPDATES

Check what changed before changing your workflow.

Regulations change. In June 2026, Ontario filed O. Reg. 197/26 amending O. Reg. 137/15. This is exactly why ChildcareFlow's Compliance Centre is being designed around versioned jurisdiction packs instead of hard-coded assumptions.

1

Check for updates

The administrator asks ChildcareFlow for the latest validated Ontario profile.

2

Review the change

See the source, effective date, previous rule, new rule and the part of ChildcareFlow affected.

3

Apply deliberately

The administrator approves the new profile and ChildcareFlow preserves an audit history.

OFFICIAL ONTARIO SOURCES

Traceable back to the regulator.

Compliance support, not legal advice. ChildcareFlow can help structure records, checks and reminders, but the operator remains responsible for understanding and meeting all applicable legislation, licence conditions and regulator directions.
